Cruel thugs tied a badly neglected Persian cat to a fence and then abandoned it - leaving the starved tabby with fur so badly matted it had to be shaved off.
The male cat was wearing a harness with a lead, when it was found tethered to a fence on Sunday, in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire.
The breed, originally from Iran, are known for their sleek long hair and squashed faces - and can live for ten to 17 years.But the poor cat had to have his fur shaved off due to the badly matted condition he was found in.He was also underweight - and animal welfare chiefs slated the owners, saying regardless of 'uncertain times' there was no excuse for abandoning a pet.The cat was not microchipped, but is recovering after his ordeal.Scottish SPCA
