A former Royal Navy sailor who stole over £40,000 and splashed a company credit card during a beach holiday in Spain has been jailed for 15 months.Crooked letting agent Amber-Louise Milne spent years stealing money from her boss and left the company with a massive unexpected overdraft.

Milne, who left the navy in disgrace, was eventually caught out when she took the company credit card to use it to fund her holiday in Benidorm.Dundee Sheriff Court was told that in 2005 she served 42 days in detention for a fraud relating to misuse of a Royal Navy travel warrant.

Milne, Rozzelle Avenue, Glasgow, admitted on Thursday that on various occasions between 25 October 2017 and 26 June 2019 she embezzled £43,830 from BS Properties Ltd and FMC (Scotland) Ltd.Milne originally faced a charge of embezzling £86,273 from the year she started with the company, but the Crown accepted her guilty plea to the lesser amount of £43,830.Sheriff Alistair Carmichael said: "In view of the previous conviction, the amount of money and the duration of your crime - which was prolonged, calculating and sustained - only a custodial sentence is appropriate."Milne, 42, spent years stealing from her employer and was only caught out when the company's bank queried the Spanish transaction.

When property company owner Brian Stewart checked the finances, he discovered Milne had managed to mount up a £25,000 overdraft in the company name.He phoned Milne while she was still in the Costa Blanca and confronted her about the missing money and she replied she had "kinda fucked up."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one
