The iconic crocodile Burt, famed for his role in the blockbuster film 'Crocodile Dundee', has died. The massive 5.1-metre reptile passed away "peacefully" in captivity at Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, aged "over 90 years old".The park, where Burt had resided since 2008, announced the news of his passing.
Burt's remarkable journey to stardom began when he was captured in the early 1980s before his legendary appearance alongside Paul Hogan in what remains Australia's highest-grossing film, reports the Mirror.On Monday December 23, the team at Crocosaurus Cove paid a heartfelt tribute to the Saltwater crocodile, stating: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Burt, the iconic Saltwater crocodile and star of the Australian classic Crocodile Dundee.
Burt passed away peacefully over the weekend, estimated to be over 90 years old, marking the end of an incredible era."Burt's life story is one of strength, resilience, and a personality as bold as the Top End itself.
