When I wrote that first TV crit on Coronation Street in the Daily Mirror – in December 1960 – I was a very young critic. But I can’t make that an excuse.
For those who can remember the first few episodes, they were pretty awful. At least, I thought so. If he did, he certainly spent his time with the wrong folk. There is little reality in his new serial, which, apparently, we will have to suffer twice a week.
