Footballing legend Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be playing in tonight’s game, Tuesday 19 April, in the wake of the devastating passing of his baby boy.

Cristiano, 37, and his partner Georgina Rodriguez, 28, announced the heartbreaking news yesterday that one of their twin babies had passed away.The pair announced that they were expecting twins in October last year, to later reveal that they were having a girl and a boy.

While Cristiano and Georgina's little boy tragically didn’t survive, they have welcomed a little girl. Following the news of their son’s devastating passing, Cristiano won’t be playing in Manchester United’s highly anticipated game against Liverpool this evening.

The club said in a statement: “Family is more important than everything + Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this immensely difficult time. "As such, we confirm he will not feature in the match against Liverpool at Anfield and we underline the family's request for privacy."
