This is crime boss and international drugs trafficker Jamie Stevenson enjoying a final few days of freedom before he fled the country – forcing police to launch a two-year international manhunt. The exclusive photograph was secretly taken in Glasgow in June 2020 only days after he had been released on bail on major drugs charges.
Nicknamed the Iceman, he’d taken residence in a flat in Saracen Street in the city's Possilpark – ironically above an ice cream shop.As he strolled with a mystery bearded man, Stevenson did not appear to have a care in the world and could be seen smiling and chatting with his associate outside the store.
Stevenson had been arrested earlier that month following a raid by the National Crime Agency (NCA) on a pill factory in Kent which was producing 28 million tablets of deadly street valium known as Etizolam. But despite his extensive criminal record Stevenson, dubbed Scotland's Tony Soprano, was given bail and released to the address in the north of Glasgow.
With days of the photograph being taken, Stevenson had fled the country, believed to be Spain and later Holland.Later that year in September, Border Force teams at Dover in a sting codenamed Operation Pepperoni seized £76million of cocaine hidden in banana boxes, masterminded by Stevenson.
