Crichton Carbon Centre creates intern position to provide peatland restoration experience

A new intern position will allow a young person to gain experience in peatland restoration.Crichton Carbon Centre specialises in carbon management, peatland restoration, sustainable land-use and environment education.It now has a vacancy within its peatland team, offering the chance to learn about peatlands and collaborate on the development of ways of understanding, mapping and planning peatland restoration and management.The centre aims to use its expertise in ecological surveying, peatland and geo-spatial mapping, to tackle the following the issue of how to plan peatland restoration in a changing environment.Crichton Carbon Centre General Manager Dr Emily Taylor said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for CCC to help others gain skills in peatland restoration and a great chance for us to come up with new ideas on how we can improve our peatland assessments and survey methods.”The seven-month internship is ideal for anyone fascinated with geography and mapping, interested in environmental restoration and using technology to find ways to assist with environmental management.
