Creetown are now clear favourites for the Utility Hut South of Scotland league after a 3-0 win at Abbey Vale. After a goalless first half, an own goal gave Creetown a lead that was soon doubled by Joe McMillan.
And Jack Marshall added a fine third to give Jamie Adams’ side a victory that left them three points clear at the top of the league on Saturday night.
Creetown have five games to go, nearest rivals Lochar Thistle four and Abbey Vale – who are seven points behind – have seven games left to play.
Creetown boss Jamie Adams said: “It was a great result, we knew how tough the game was going to be. “If you want to win the league you have to go to places like Abbey Vale and win and the boys did that. “I think first half both teams were a bit, not nervy, but waiting on something to happen. “I told them if we win, we win and if we lose, we lose, but go and make a difference, don’t wait for somebody else to do something.
