Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Christophe Berra were Celtic and Hearts’ forgotten men earlier this year. Now both are preparing to play in the Scottish Cup final just months after being cast aside by their respective clubs.Berra found himself unsuited to Daniel Stendel’s style of play and therefore unwanted by the then Hearts boss, who shipped him out on loan to Dundee just two days after his wedding back in January. That came after being banished to train with the Under 18s and it looked like the former captain’s time at Tynecastle was unceremoniously over.Gordon was forced to play second fiddle to Fraser Forster at Celtic, sometimes even third once Scott Bain was back on the scene and rarely got a look in as Neil Lennon’s team marched towards a ninth successive league.
