Covid-19 rates in West Dunbartonshire rise fractionally above Scottish average

Join thousands of others in getting the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox.Covid-19 rates across West Dunbartonshire have risen fractionally above the Scottish average.The latest data published this afternoon, which covers the seven days to April 22, shows an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases locally from 15.7 per 100,000 to 29.2 per 100,000.Test positivity remains at 1.4 percent however, well before the five percent threshold outlined by the World Health Organisation for having the virus under control.

Figures peaked at more than 270 cases per 100,000 locally during winter.Reporting five new cases (a rate of 91.9 per 100,000 people) Dalmuir is the worst hit area in the locality, with Leven posting the highest.
