Courteney Cox is returning for Scream 7, according to a new report. The 60-year-old actress will once again play Gale Weathers in the seventh installment of the franchise, set to be released in 2026, Variety reported. Courteney has appeared in every Scream film. I’m not, but there will be a Scream 7.” She said she was still waiting for a final script, but was “excited” that the film will be Kevin Williamson’s first time directing a Scream movie.

He wrote the script for the first movie in 1996. “You can’t get better than that choice,” she said, adding “It’s going to be fun.” At the time, she also spoke about Dewey (David Arquette) and her hope to bring him back. “I understand the reasons they did it, but whoa!

Talk about a missed character,” she said. “Dewey is so loved by Scream fans. They have to figure it out.” There are several more stars confirmed to be joining the movie.
