Couple stranded in Dubai for 12 days makes it back to UK but 'never want to leave again'

Alison Shah, 60, and her partner, Richard Kay, 52, decided to take matters into their own hands by hopping multiple flights and taxis on a tiresome quest that took them three days to reach home after their vacation trip to Bangkok and Thailand turned into a travel nightmare.Despite her nightmare ordeal Alison, an emergency control operator from Manchester, was focussed on getting back to work.
They first caught a five-hour flight from Dubai to Istanbul, then grabbed another brief flight to Dalaman before taking another strenuous five-hour journey back home.The Manchester Evening News reports Alison said: "We were originally due to get back on April 17 and we didn't get back until the 21st.
I have never experienced anything like this." Her ordeal has left such a deep impact, she admits: "I told Richard that I never want to leave the country again which is sad as I love travelling.
We paid a lot of money for the holiday and it has ended in a nightmare."Alison and Richard were en route to Manchester from Thailand via Dubai.
