A British couple were stranded in storm-hit Dubai and faced a whooping 12-day wait for a flight back. Alison Shah, 60, and her partner, Richard Kay, 52, decided to take matters into their own hands by hopping multiple flights and taxis on a tiresome quest that took them three days to reach home after their vacation trip to Bangkok and Thailand turned into a travel nightmare.Despite her nightmare ordeal Alison, an emergency control operator from Manchester, was focussed on getting back to work.
They first caught a five-hour flight from Dubai to Istanbul, then grabbed another brief flight to Dalaman before taking another strenuous five-hour journey back home.The Manchester Evening News reports Alison said: "We were originally due to get back on April 17 and we didn't get back until the 21st.
I have never experienced anything like this." Her ordeal has left such a deep impact, she admits: "I told Richard that I never want to leave the country again which is sad as I love travelling.
We paid a lot of money for the holiday and it has ended in a nightmare."Alison and Richard were en route to Manchester from Thailand via Dubai.
