A couple have slammed their £8.20 bill for two soft drinks after they were charged a "booking fee", despite being walk-in customers.

Ron Wiltshire and his wife Margaret have vowed never to return to the bar in Nottingham after the "rip off" bill for two Diet Cokes.

The couple were visiting the city for the day from their home in Sheffield and stopped off at Fat Cat to have a drink before the drive back, Nottinghamshire Live reports.

But the retired pair say they were shocked when the bill came for two small bottles of Diet Coke. Ron said: "We sat outside.
