Charlie and Lynette Bathgate, both 42, endured ten agonising years of unsuccessful attempts to have a child. They were on the brink of giving up their dream of parenthood when a doctor suggested Lynette try a medication typically used before IVF treatment, available on the NHS.
Lynette was consumed with anxiety when she discovered she was pregnant for the seventh time, having previously suffered six heart-wrenching miscarriages.
Their daughter - fittingly named Faith - was born via emergency caesarian section on December 10 last year, weighing a healthy 8lb, 5oz.
