A couple remain horrified after arsonists set fire to their car while they were asleep at their home.A burnt out shell is all that is left of their Citroen Picasso, leaving them without a car and in disbelief as to why it was torched.
At first, it was not known whether the Devon fire on May 30 was deliberate or not but after viewing a neighbour's CCTV footage, Kevin Allum, 54, said that he was shocked to see two people had set it alight and then run off.
Kevin states that he discovered the fire after being awoken in his sleep by a 'big bang' and then when he looked out of their bedroom window, he could see their car engulfed in flames, Devon Live reports.He rang the fire brigade who were already on their way after receiving calls from neighbours.Kevin recalled: "We were in bed when I was woken by a bang.
I thought it sounded like a gunshot. Although it woke me up I didn't get up and then I heard a proper big bang."I jumped out of bed and looked out of the window and saw our car on fire.
