Families in Renfrewshire will see their council tax bills rise by almost five per cent over the next year as the SNP administration pushed through its £440million budget for 2020/21 with ease.Despite an attempt by the Labour opposition to freeze council tax for the next year at a special full council meeting, elected members backed a 4.64 per cent increase in charges.It means Band D residents will be paying £1.12 a week more - or £58.32 more per year - with the bill now set at £1,315.42.Residents in the most expensive bands of G and H will see their annual bills increase by well over £100 this year, while those in Band A will now have to dig out almost £900 a year.Alongside the increase, finance convener Councillor John Shaw also announced
