Council sets date for beginning the demolition of Motherwell tower blocks

Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Tower blocks which have dominated Lanarkshire skylines for decades have been earmarked for demolition.As part of North Lanarkshire Council’s towers regeneration programme, blocks in Motherwell and Coatbridge are set to be pulled down over the next two years as part of plans to deliver 5000 new homes across the council area.Site work is now set to begin at Burnside Court in Coatbridge in January 2021This will be followed by Coursington, Allan and Draffen Court in Motherwell in the spring of 2022.And then Jackson Court, High Coats and Dunbeth Court in Coatbridge will follow in the spring of 2023.The blocks are included in the first phase of a 25-year plan.
