Costco's custom cakes have often been popular with shoppers when it comes to celebrations, but a recent mishap has gone viral online after one shopper placed an order that was taken a little too literally.
The discount retailer offers a 48-hour service for personalised cakes, with customers having the option to write a special message for the recipient.
However, one shopper, according to the Daily Star, got something they ‘didn’t need’ when their request was comically lost in translation. Wanting to keep the appearance minimalistic, they requested ‘no writing’ and ‘no designs’. However, the bakery visitor did ask for ‘red frosting on the perimeter for top/bottom’, even going so far as to draw a little diagram of how they wanted the icing to be piped along each edge.
