Cost of living payments are going to provide a much-needed boost to millions of household budgets across the UK over the next few months.

More than 7.2 million people have already received the first instalment of the £650 means-tested cost of living payment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) with the second payment for £324 due to land in accounts this autumn.People claiming Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will receive their payment of £326 in September, with the second round of support due to be made in the winter.
