While it might not be the first scene to pop into our minds, Coronation Street is up for a very specific BAFTA. The Virgin Media Must-See Moment Of The Year is awarded to the scene that captivated audiences the most and the ITV soap has bagged a nomination alongside some very (very!) unlikely competition.
The award is designed to celebrate the scenes that dominated social media by having viewers on the edge of their seats be it because of a drama sequence, a cliffhanger, or a hilarious moment.
Corrie’s nod comes thanks to Sinead Tinker’s death which had long been foretold after Katie McGlynn announced she was leaving the soap.
