Julie Hesmondhlagh is perhaps best known for playing the iconic Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street but the actress has revealed she would turn down the role if it were offered to her today.
Making her debut on the soap in 1998, Julie’s role was a groundbreaking one as she played the first transgender character in a British serial; a role that has earned her many awards and much critical acclaim along the way.
