Coronation Street legend Chris Gascoyne who plays the iconic Peter Barlow in the soap has landed a new role away from the show.
Chris has been on the cobbles for 23 years, but he is swapping the street for the theatre in his new job this Christmas. It has been announced that the 55 year old will play Captain Hook in the stage show of Peter Pan later this year.
His new role was announced by the Alban Arena in Saint Albans on Saturday, and the post saw Chris supported by his fans.Taking to Instagram, the arena said: "The Alban Arena are delighted to announce Coronation Street Legend Chris Gascoyne will star as Captain Hook in The All New Adventures of Peter Pan this pantomime season!
Chris Gascoyne is famous for his role as Peter Barlow in Britain’s top soap, Coronation Street (ITV) in which he has led numerous high-profile storylines to great acclaim." They added: "This promises to be our most spectacular pantomime yet with stunning sets, dazzling costumes, and a star-studded cast, this is a must-see show for the whole family.
