Coronation Street actress Kate Ford has revealed that she "struggled" filming scenes for the soap due to her excruciating endometriosis flare-ups.The 45 year old, who was diagnosed with the gynaecological condition in 2017, took to her Instagram platform on Friday 28 January to share a makeup-free snap of herself in a red "ITV Studio Coronation St." jacket in between takes. "Filming #itvcorrie this was a few weeks ago at a time that I was struggling with my #endrometriosis," the star, who plays the role of Tracey Barlow, on the soap began.
Kate went on to admit that despite her painful condition that made work difficult, she would always get through the day thanks to plenty of support from her co-stars. "Luckily got lots of support x just sending a hug out to all those struggling with similar," she added with a red heart emoji.
Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes and can affect women of any age.
Sufferers of the condition experience heavy periods, with pain that stops them from going about their everyday activities. Women with the condition also sadly face difficulties when trying to get pregnant.
