Coronation Street star Bill Roache opened up on his future on the cobbles ahead of the special show about his character Ken Barlow, which airs on Wednesday.
Bill, 88, has starred as Ken for 60 years, but is currently unable to film as the older members of the cast including Barbara Knox (Rita Tanner), David Neilson (Roy Cropper) and Sue Nichols (Audrey Roberts) are banned from the set during the pandemic.
The soap is filming with the younger members of the cast with social distancing measures in place. Speaking about the upcoming 60th anniversary of the show, Bill admitted he never thought he would play the role for that long, having starred in the show since its inception in 1960.
