Kirk Sutherland is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, Coronation Street. The character first appeared on-screen during the episode airing on 22 May 2000, played by an uncredited actor and originally referred to as Mark. From October onwards, he is played by Andrew Whyment.

Andy Whyment, 38, who plays Kirk Sutherland on the hit ITV drama, announced this week that there may be a possibility that the soap will be forced off screens if they run out of new episodes to air. ‘Coronation Street’ was brought to a halt last month after the UK went into lockdown.
Filming was suspended to ensure the safety of the cast and crew. Now, Andy Whyment, admits that there is a chance that the show may be taken off the air if it runs out of episodes to screen.
