The actor played Alan Bradley for three years and his abusive character is famed for the scene in which he was struck and killed by a Blackpool tram while chasing his partner Rita Fairclough in 1989.Mark had been married to fellow Weatherfield icon Sue Nicholls, who plays Audrey Roberts in the soap, since 1993.His agent said: "We are very sad to announce the death of actor Mark Eden."He died peacefully, in hospital, earlier today, 1st Jan 2021.
