EastEnders has axed Dennis Rickman's harrowing funeral next week after suspending filming "until further notice" in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result of the halt in filming, the episodes airing each week will be reduced to two rather than the usual four on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The BBC has now confirmed the new schedule for EastEnders will no longer involve Dennis' funeral airing on Monday 23rd of March.

Instead, the scenes will air on the following Monday on the 30th. The soap will air what would have been this Thursday's episode on the 23rd which involves the outcome of Whitney's bail hearing.
