Coronavirus could force nearly a third of NHS staff off work, the Health Secretary has warned. Jeane Freeman said thousands of trainee doctors and nurses may have to be drafted in to plug the gap caused by staff absence rates of 30%.And she said the Scottish Government is looking to double the number of intensive care units available due to the spread of the virus.That will be achieved by making "difficult decisions" to scale down procedures in the NHS, such as hip and knee replacement surgeries.The Health Secretary set out the measures as she revealed the UK could shortly see cases of Covid-19 being spread by community transmission - rather than someone who has been in an area where the disease is prevalent, or having close contact with
