Costco shoppers were given a squirt of "disinfectant-like liquid" in the latest sign of coronavirus panic in the UK, a customer claims.
The customer said people were queuing to enter when their hands and trolleys were disinfected at the doors of the warehouse in Croydon, south London.
Costco confirmed it is sanitising trolley handles at its stores in a bid to prevent the spread of Covid-19. It comes amid panic buying in the UK and abroad, including the US where Costco shops have been cleared of items such as hand sanitiser, loo roll and bottled water.
