Jack James Ryan, best known for portraying Jacob Hay in Coronation Street, has been left 'devastated' this week following the unexpected death of his family dog Frank.The actor took to Instagram to pay tribute to the French Bulldog, who passed away due to an aggressive cancer.
Sharing a heart-warming picture with the pup, the star detailed his emotion. "Utterly devastated to say we lost my best boy Frank today very unexpectedly to an aggressive cancer.
He was the best mate a guy could ask for," wrote Jack. While another Instagram Story post showed Frank alongside a pug and a dachshund, with the actor dubbing them an 'iconic trio' while adding a broken heart emoji.The difficult post comes after Jack departed Coronation Street earlier this year in a surprise exit for his character Jacob, sharing that he had done 'what he intended to do' with the venture.
He said at the time: : "It was a really hard decision, because I love the character so much. But I was coming up to that two-year mark on the show and the conversations upstairs were very much about looking at the long haul of what Jacob was going to do and who he was going to be on the Street with.
