Coronation Street’s Fiz Stape is a bride in a pickle next week, as her ex Tyrone declares his love, just as she’s about to head down the aisle with new fella Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna).
However, Jennie McAlpine – who plays Fiz – reveals it’s not all high drama on the big day. There is a sweet moment in the episodes which she and co-star Alan Halsall (Tyrone) enjoyed playing out.The scene paid tribute to the late Jack and Vera Duckworth (Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn) – who became like second parents to Ty and Fiz over the years.
We'll see Tyrone kindly give Fiz a pair of earrings that belonged to Vera to wear on the big day. Jennie explains: “They’re not Vera’s big colourful earrings that she’s famous for – they’re little pearl ones that Jack gave her for an anniversary.
Fiz thinks they’re gorgeous.” And Jennie reveals the earrings aren’t the only reference to Fiz’s history during the wedding day: “There’s another a little nod to the past as well in the earrings scene ," she says. "Well, it’s not that small actually, it’s quite big – something to do with what I’m wearing, which I really liked.” With Ty having already declared his love for Fiz, emotions are running high as the pair reminisce.
