Coronation Street's Tyrone gives 'lying' Cassie a second chance as Evelyn left feeling rejected

Coronation Street is set to air some upsetting scenes on tonight's episode (Friday). Evelyn Plummer packs her bags and moves out of grandson Tyrone's home after he was given an ultimatum and chose his mum Cassie over her.Tyrone asked Cassie to leave earlier this week following a drug overdose when she was found by his daughter Hope, but he decided he couldn't turn his back on his birth mum following her sensational return to the Cobbles.Cassie, played by Claire Sweeney, had been under the supervision of fellow addict Abi Webster when Tyrone later decided to check on his mum.

Overhearing that Abi told Ty Cassie would likely turn back to drugs, she asked her son to attend the support group with her.Abi opened up on her own road to recovery, as Cassie decided to tell her story too, which shocked Tyrone as she detailed being kicked out of the family home by mum Evelyn as a teenager, which led her to prostitution to survive.Tyrone was left heartbroken following the conversation and enraged with his grandmother, but ITV viewers at home were aware Cassie was exaggerating the story as Evelyn had attempted to help her daughter numerous times over the years.Abi urged Tyrone to come to his senses and see that Evelyn was not in the wrong, but he decided he was going to invite Cassie to move back in after listening to the sob story, despite having his kids Hope and Ruby to think about too.Later on, Evelyn finally returned home where she was greeted by a frosty Tyrone, which made her realise there was lies involved in what Cassie had told him.
