Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon mistakes herself for American singer and says 'I had to double take'

As fans of the ITV soap know, the actress is famed for playing Maria Windass - nee Sutherland. Samia - and Maria - first arrived on the cobbles in 2000 after she beat Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh and Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw to land the role.
The character was first seen working in the kennels belonging to her father, Eric. Tyrone Dobbs and Jack Duckworth brought Tyrone's greyhound, Monica, in to look for a stud to mate with but Maria and Tyrone were immediately attracted to one another and the pair began a relationship and the rest, as they say, is history and 24 years later and Maria is still a mainstay in Weatherfield. The soap star shared a picture of what appeared to be her posing with a fan in the street. However, upon closer inspection, it was clear it was Wrecking Ball and Flowers hitmaker Miley Cyrus.
