Busybody Norris Cole is leaving Coronation Street for good – and viewers aren't even going to get to see him say goodbye. Actor Malcolm Hebden, who has stayed away due to the pandemic, has retired after 27 years of service on the Street.
He has filmed more than 1,600 episodes since first stepping foot on the cobbles back in 1994.The 81 year old quit acting last summer.
He suffered a near-fatal heart attack in 2017 and has decided the time is right to bring the curtain down on his career. He has made the odd cameo in 2020 but has now decided to listen to his body.
