Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has shared his relief at Paul Foreman's tragic storyline coming to an end but admitted his pride at what he and his castmates have been able to achieve through the heartbreaking scenes.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, Daniel's character Billy Mayhew has been by his husband Paul's side ever since he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in April 2023.
The former builder was told had had the life-shortening disease, in which messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles, shortly after being knocked over by Carla Connor in an Underworld van. There were also emotional scenes in the summer when Billy organised a day out for Paul as his last day of freedom as it was deemed unsafe for him to use the flat's stairlift any longer.
