Viewers of the ITV soap will have recently seen the character charged with actual bodily harm (ABH). Earlier this month, Betsy Swain accused her mum DS Lisa Swain of being on a 'date' with Carla after spotting them at the police station.
It came after Swain had to take Carla in for questioning as a result of Betsy confessing to seeing Carla knock a boy who had been terrorising Roy Cropper off of his bike before driving off.
In scenes to air early next month (October), Carla will head to court where she comes face to face with Tom. Later, she's unaware that Tom has followed her back from court and is watching her overseeing a delivery.
