Coronation Street legend Vicky Entwistle has announced her plans to retire as she hit out at industry bosses. The 53-year-old star played gobby favourite Janice Battersby on the hit ITV soap for 14 years until 2010.

She revealed on Twitter that she was quitting acting as she cited a lack of respect following recent auditions for her decision.

She said on Twitter: “Just had a few Zoom auditions. Half of me thinks I’m lucky. . the other half thinks. . any feed back cocky b******s!!"Speaking about more auditions she ranted: “It’s just cost me £80 in petrol.
