Coronation Street icon Sean Wilson has admitted that the ITV soap "wasn't for him" after he left, although he hinted at a potential return. The actor played David Platt's dad Martin, who left his son devastated when he left Weatherfield with his new girlfriend Robyn in November 2005, before returning in 2018, as David (Jack P.
Shepherd) went through a shocking rape storyline. Sean is an old-timer on Corrie, having first appeared on the soap as an 18 year old when he started working at the cafe owned by Gail Tilsley (MBE Helen Worth) who he went on to have two children - David and Sarah - with.
He was part of some of the soap's biggest storylines, including David's rape one and the one where his daughter Sarah got pregnant at 16 years old.
But since leaving Corrie, Sean hasn't been acting much, and he recently opened up to the Daily Express about why he decided to leave the soap.
