Coronation Street fans were alarmed at the end of the first 30 minutes of Friday night's visit, as a guest character revealed their true colours.

A male who appeared to be the hospital cleaner, clearing Peter Barlow's bin, actually turned out to be a villain. Not only that but he had a secret link to Peter, who was awaiting his liver transplant, which he had no idea about.

Peter was awaiting to see if the operation was going ahead and was in the bed, when the cleaner suddenly entered the room. He had small talk with him, but some viewers may have spotted that as he went to leave, the cleaner gave Peter a look.
