Coronation Street fans baffled by Alya Nazir's '180' as she makes unexpected return

Coronation Street fans have shared their confusion over Alya Nazier's sudden '180' as she made an unexpected return to the cobbles.

The character left the cobbles earlier this year as the actress who plays her, Sair Khan, headed on maternity leave. Sair took a break from the ITV soap earlier this year after she announced that she was expecting her first child last December.

She kept much of her pregnancy out of the spotlight and as her temporary Corrie exit scenes aired on-screen, the new mum confirmed her son's arrival in May.

She said at the time: "He’s here! ...Our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world. He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour."
