Coronation Street has reintroduced a character after more than a decade - with the original actress having left the role. Spoilers for the soap next week have revealed that one character has been welcomed back on screen and is sporting a brand new look as the actress has been recast, reports the Mirror.Ruby Dobbs, the child of Tyrone Dobbs and stepdaughter of Fiz Brown, will feature in a new scene next week with some of the younger cast.
However, actress Macy Alabi, who has played the role for the past 11 years, has bowed out of the show.It's been widely reported that Macy decided to ditch the role and now Ruby will be played by another child actor.
According to spoilers, Billie Naylor is taking on the role next week and will appear in new scenes in upcoming episodes.Macy was one of the original actresses to play Ruby - taking on the role in 2012 - and appearing since.
She has also been in the role since Ruby was born in September 2012.One of Macy's last scenes saw her wave goodbye to her stepmother Fiz in May, as she headed to Norwich for a job opportunity.
