Coronation Street cast dedicate BAFTA to Sophie Lancaster in moving speech cut from show

The cast of Coronation Street dedicated its BAFTA award on Sunday to Sophie Lancaster in a moving moment at the ceremony. The best soap award was accepted by actress Sally Dynevor, Sally Webster in Corrie, who dedicated it to tragic Sophie and her mother Sylvia.

Sophie was murdered in August 2007 aged 20 after being targeted along with her boyfriend Robert Maltby for wearing dreadlocked hair, dark clothing and piercings.

Robert woke from a coma a week after the attack but Sophie tragically died.
