Chepstow's Coral Welsh Grand National will be run in memory of Kim Gingell, it has been announced. The daughter of Colin and Pauline Tizzard, and sister of Joe Tizzard, tragically lost a short battle with cancer in May, leaving a husband David and son, Freddie.
Gingell played a fundamental role in the success of the stable, which sent out the winners of the December 27 race in 2016 (Native River) and 2018 (Elegant Escape).
Colin Tizzard said “It’s lovely that Coral and Chepstow are running the race in Kim’s memory. "We’ve had some fantastic days at Chepstow on Welsh National day with Kim and it is a very fitting way to remember her.” The Tizzards' Christmas In April is a 10-1 shot with the sponsors to add the Welsh marathon to his record,
