Cops put £170k Bentley on display outside police station

A supercar believed to be worth in excess of £170,000 was put on display outside a police station after being seized for having no insurance.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Stockport division said officers pounced after finding the Bentley Continental GT which was being driven through Reddish, had no insurance policy on it.

In a bid to warn other drivers they then posed up the luxury motor outside their headquarters. In a post on their Facebook page, GMP Stockport said: "This rather fancy Bentley was seized yesterday in Reddish after Officers found it to be driving with no insurance. "No matter how nice your car is, or how much money you have to repair it - you are not exempt from paying insurance on your vehicle - you pose a risk to the livelihoods and property of the hard-working people of Stockport and Greater Manchester. "That being said, we couldn't help ourselves from conducting a nice photoshoot with it when passing our Divisional Headquarters." The post was accompanied by a picture of the car parked on the grass outside the Stockport Divisional Headquarters in Cheadle Heath.

It has stickers on it saying: "Seized by Greater Manchester Police. No Insurance. Awaiting disposal." According to the motoring website Autotrader Bentley Continentals sell for between £168,000 and rises to around £212 000, depending on the version.
