Cops name man who died after crash on Scots road as probe launched

A man who died following a crash in Dalbeattie has been named by police, as they appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

The incident happened at around 7.40pm on Friday, September 15, on Craignair Street, near the junction with Port Road, in the Dumfries and Galloway town.

He was named today as 56-year-old Ian Spencer from the Castle Douglas area. Emergency services attended but Ian was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said enquiries into the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and officers are appealing for information.
