Cops hunt would-be dognappers who left pet owner shaken

A man was left "shaken" after he was the victim of an attempted dog theft in Linlithgow on Friday night. The 62-year-old had been walking his golden retriever in the town's Longcroft Gardens at around 10pm (May 15) when he became aware of three strangers behind him.

As he was making his way from the direction of Falkirk Road, the men passed him and one stopped and tried to grab the dog's lead.

The walker managed to get away with his pet and left in the direction of Falkirk Road.Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing for information.

In particular they are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to identify a man described as being white, in his mid-20s, around 5ft 10in tall and slim build with short
