Chief Inspector Dale Sexton denied he had lied but admitted it had been a deliberate 'omission' to an independent report by Lord Kerslake in 2018 and two internal GMP reviews in the months after the 2017 attack.
The officer came clean today (Friday) at the continuing independent inquiry into the atrocity after being grilled for three days about his role on the night of the attack.
