Convicted paedophile arrested after 'running through EuroTunnel to France'

A British man arrested for allegedly trying to run to France through the Eurotunnel is a convicted sex offender. Ryan Murrayland was caught by French customs officers on the evening of December 21.

It has now emerged the 31-year-old was jailed for 27 months in 2015 for sexual activity with a child. A judge at Preston Crown Court also ordered Murrayland, of Manchester, to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

And last November he got 13 months for attempted robbery. Murrayland is in a prison near Calais. Authorities say he faces up to six months in jail for entering a railway without authorisation and refusing to cooperate with police.
