Conor McGregor has promised 'a masterpiece' when he fights Dustin Poirier in his first UFC fight in a year this month. McGregor and Poirier will headline UFC 257 when they meet in a lightweight clash on January 23.

The Irishman has not fought since stopping Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds a year ago - and that was his first bout since he was choked out by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

But McGregor insists he will be ready to deliver an MMA masterclass against Poirier, who he stopped in the first round when they met six years ago. 'The Notorious' took to Twitter to give his prediction, simply saying: "I promise a masterpiece." His tweet received 12,000 likes and was retweeted 1,700 times within 20 minutes of being posted.
