‘Connected’ feels like two different movies in first Trailer

hollywood.comLet me start off by saying I am going to see this movie. 1) You had me at the producers of Lego Movie and Spiderverse (Phil Lord and Christopher Miller).
2) I love this art style. 3) I am going to connect with the overall story. That being said, this trailer makes it feel like two different movies.
The first half of the trailer is a dad (Danny McBridge) reminiscing about his daughter Katie (Abbi Jacobson) growing up and how they used to connect so much but since Katie has grown up she’s fallen into technology and he feels they’ve grown apart.
Its time for Katie to go to college far away so the dad feels he should drive her there with the family (Maya Rudolph and Michael Rianda).
